Johnny Rice II, M.S., Dr.PH., is the Founder and Principal Consultant for Social Justice Ventures LLC – a public health management consulting firm and also serves as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Coppin State University in Baltimore. Dr. Rice previously served as Senior Program Associate at the Vera Institute of Justice in the Supervised Visitation Initiative. Before joining Vera, he worked as a public administrator for the Maryland Department of Human Resources, overseeing their various programs on family violence and victims of crime. He has a long history of working with low-income fathers and families, focusing on responsible fatherhood and on enhancing their stability and the safety of the communities they live in. He has worked to address family violence, serving in a variety of roles for nationally recognized domestic violence entities, including contributing to the development of the Safe Havens Supervised Visitation Grant Program Guiding Principles. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in criminal justice from the University of Baltimore, and his Dr.PH. Degree from Morgan State University's School of Community Health and Policy.
